Reasons To Shop Local - Shop Events December & January
The concept for the shop has always been to build a community around the shop, for people who are curious, would like to get into, love and enjoy all of the same outdoor activities that we do. We also want to make a positive impact on the lives of people living in Bath and the wider area. This all sounds very philanthropic, we think so but it also gives us the opportunity to ride, walk, swim, paddle, chat, laugh and have fun with new people and friends alike - Darroch, Mark and the team draw a huge amount of happiness and satisfaction from this.
We will be supporting charities and causes close to us, one of which being Mentoring Plus in Bath who providing mentoring support and activities for children and young people going through tough times. So expect a small fee or donation request at the events we host (after all we put a lot of time, effort and passion in delivering them), this allows those in need who you will likely pass in the street in Bath at some point to get the help they desperately need..
For information, our shop motto is 'Do the right thing'. We don't much care about the politics behind things, we just figure getting on with it, taking action, bringing people together and enjoying the ride is our best chance of making a difference!
In that spirit, expect to see regular shop social activities such as shop social mountain bike rides, bikepacking nights, social paddleboard sessions, litter picking walks & other outdoor active events. We'll also be hosting movie nights, talks, bike maintenance evenings whilst coupling with organisations like Avon & Somerset constabulary to host bike marking and registration events.
To date we have had a successful series of events since June including a Women's Adventure Evening, SUP demo & maintenance sessions, bikepacking rides and our initial 'Movie Night' featuring some of our favourite bikepacking movies.

So the purpose of this particular 'adventure blog post' is to introduce our events programme for the rest of December and January 2022. We got all serious and did some slides for you ;)
