Monthly 'Bath Outdoors' Shop Run with Anna-Marie Watson - Start on 16 April 2022
The inaugural monthly Bath Outdoors running meet-up will take place on Saturday 16th April 2022. Join Anna-Marie to hit up the trails around Bath and explore the surrounding area. Bath sits nestled amongst seven hills which are filled with hidden trails and stunning views over the city.
We’ll meet-up at the Bath Outdoors shop for 10:30am for a brief before heading out. The route will be approximately 10km and there will be a few hills!
There are plenty of points where we’ll be able to stop and admire the scenery along the way. We’ll plan to pop into a local café towards the end of the run before heading back to Bath Outdoors for 12:30pm.
Runners are kindly requested to bring appropriate kit (waterproof jacket, water (500ml), money, warm kit, cap, sunglasses, sun-tan cream) in consideration of the weather. It’s advisable to check the forecast in advance! In addition, bring some money or a method of payment for coffee and cake.
Bags can be left securely at Bath Outdoors during the run.
Future running meet-ups will take place on:
- Saturday 7th May 2022
- Saturday 11th June 2022
- Saturday 9th July 2022
- Saturday 13th August 2022
- Saturday 17th September 2022
Anna-Marie has been diagnosed with a severe ultra-running habit and can usually be found searching for the perfect trail. Her first foray into ultra-running was the CCC (2008) where she narrowly scrapped through every check point with minutes to spare. Fast forward to 2017 she successfully completed the UTMB placing 7th lady, 5th Brit and in the top 100.
Over the last ten years she’s combined her two key passions in life; ultra-running and exploring the power of the mind in a quest for peak performance. Self-certified fair weather athlete she’s happier in toasty temperatures and prefers sunshine racing taking part in the Half Marathon des Sables Fuerteventura (2017) 1st lady, Marathon des Sables (2015 and 2018) 2nd and 5th lady respectively, Ultra Trail World Tour (UTWT) Cappadocia Ultra (2016) 1st lady and Oman by UTMB (2019) 1st lady.
During lockdown she hunted out adventures on her doorstep in Wiltshire setting the Fastest Known Time (FKT) for the Dan Booth Round, Limestone Link, Mendip Way and White Horse Trail. The film ‘Eight White Horses’ was co-created with Danielle Sellwood from Find It Film to cover the 100-mile journey and was selected for the Kendal Mountain Film Player. Watch it – here.
Anna-Marie is also a qualified British Athletics Coaching in Running Fitness (CiRF) Coach and supports runners pursue their ultra goals. Her athletes are currently training for the Marathon des Sables, Lakeland 100 and Mozart 100 amongst other running challenges.
